Personal note: My family and I just moved so I resigned my Tenured Full-Time Professor Position. I am looking for remote work in the Digital Media or Digital Sports media space. I can edit, proofread, write, curate stories, etc. Do you need someone to write your newsletter? If you are hiring or know of someone hiring for this type of work, would you reach out to me? Jacksonville Jaguar Jamal Agnew was probably not thinking about making history when he lined up in the end zone as Arizona Cardinal Matt Prater attempted to kick a 68 yard field goal. The kick was short and Agnew ran it back 109 yards, tying the record for the longest play in NFL history.
Courtney Vandersloot of the Chicago Sky had a triple double in her game against the Connecticut Sun last week. She and former Texas Tech/Olympic Champion/Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes are the only two players to have accomplished the feat. Vandersloot had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 18 assists!
Soccer tends to be a low scoring game. My son plays Club Soccer and trust me, scoring is a difficult endeavor. Scoring a goal quickly gives your team confidence and demoralizes the opponent. So when Jelena Sever of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee scored a goal 3.2 seconds into the game, it sparked the team to a 7-0 win over Youngstown State. Sever set the NCAA women’s soccer record with the fastest goal ever scored! Watch it here:
Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens made NFL kicking history last week when he made a 66 yard field goal! It is the longest kick ever made!

The 2022 SuperBowl Halftime Show is going Old School Hip Hop! The performers will be Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg.
Some football comebacks can be a little crazy but this one takes the cake! Hamilton High School in Arizona was losing 24-7 to Bishop Gorman High School with 70 seconds left. They scored 18 points in 1 minute 10 seconds to win the game 25-24. Crazy!
Green Bay Packers Aaron Jones was wearing a necklace that contained his late father’s ashes in their game versus the Detroit Lions last month. He lost it at some point during the game. One of the team’s trainers, Bryan “Flea” Engel spent a few hours searching the field for it and found it!

The Coldest NFL game ever played aka “The Freezer Bowl” was the 1981 AFC Championship game between the San Diego Chargers & Cincinnati Bengals: -9 was the temperature with a -59 windchill! What in the world?????? Read it HERE
Baseball stadiums have had some interesting quirks over the years. Read about them HERE. For example, Colt Stadium in Houston (1962-1964)was called “Mosquito Heaven” because of how bad the mosquitoes were. It was one of the main reasons the Astrodome was built.
